About Me

About Me

I am a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress and complex trauma. I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist and a DBT therapist

My approach in therapy is from a trauma-focused lens where I focus on using mind and body techniques for healing. I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am a graduate from La Salle University (Philadelphia) and I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling. I have over 10 years of clinical experience where I provided mental health services in schools, intensive outpatient programs, and partial hospitalization programs. I work with clients ages 18 and older.

I offer teletherapy serving Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma Therapy

EMDR Therapy is a non-verbal approach that is used to treat traumatic and adverse experiences from your past. I also incorporate IFS Therapy throughout EMDR treatment. Together, these approaches help us to explore negative beliefs about yourself and how they are impacting your life today. We focus on healing past traumatic experiences to reduce symptoms and problems you may be currently experiencing.

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

When using traditional talk-therapy approaches, I provide a non-judgmental and compassionate space for you to openly talk. I use DBT and mindfulness modalities while integrating mind-body techniques to increase your sense of safety and awareness. I combine psychoeducation with skill acquisition techniques to empower you to use the skills outside of sessions in improving relationships both with yourself and others.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are sessions available in-person?
All sessions are virtually held via Google Meet. Sessions are most successful when done in a private space via a computer, but can also be accessed from a cell phone when necessary. All clients must be physically located in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania or the U.S. Virgin Islands while participating in sessions.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Clients are required to provide at least 24 hours notice to cancel without penalty. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or do not show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session as originally booked. Typically, insurance companies will not reimburse for missed sessions.
  • Do you accept insurance?
I do not participate with any insurance plans at this time. You will be billed at the end of the month for all charges that were accumulated during the month. I will provide a superbill that you can take to your insurance company. I advise you to contact your insurance provider to better understand if they provide out-of-network (OON) benefits and any implications of those guidelines.
  • Are you accepting new clients?
Yes! Schedule your initial consultation here or email info@kristenmoyertherapy.com .
  • How much do sessions cost?
Free Phone Consultation: $0/15 minutes Initial intake session: $215/60 minutes Subsequent sessions: $195/45 minutes. Sessions can also be scheduled in 60-minute, 90-minute, or 2-hr increments. There is an additional $20 fee for each 15 minutes past the initial 45 minute session.
